ANIVET Wundfix Product description:
Our ANIVET-Wundfix-System utilizes a special biomechanical property of the skin: the so-called mechanical creep.
This refers to the skin’s ability to stretch beyond its normal elasticity under constant tensile stress. This occurs because the originally wavy collagen fibers gradually stretch and align themselves parallel to the direction of tension. This effect is specifically used to bring wound edges together without tension and promote healing.
ANIVET Wundfix – More than just wound closure
Whether for wounds with significant tension or after skin loss, the ANIVET-Wundfix-System offers a reliable solution for several challenges at once:
🔹 Tension relief: Supports tension sutures in wounds with high tensile force—for greater stability and fewer complications.
🔹 Fixation of wound coverings: Keeps the covering securely in place—even where traditional dressings do not hold.
🔹 Targeted skin stretching: Uses the mechanical creep effect to prepare for tension-free wound closure.
- One system – many functions:
✔ Wound closure
✔ Tension relief
✔ Bandage fixation
✔ Movement stable
✔ Ideal for difficult surgical situations - ANIVET – Because modern wound care needs to do more.
Possible applications
ANIVET Wundfix – Bandage fixation on difficult areas of the body
- In veterinary practice, securely fixing wound dressings to certain parts of the body is often a challenge. It is particularly difficult to apply a traditional protective bandage to anatomically complex areas such as the neck, shoulder, thigh, or croup, especially in horses or large-framed patients.
- The ANIVET-Wundfix-System offers an innovative solution here:
Thanks to the special design of the stent bandage, the wound covering can be fixed directly to the body without slipping and without additional bandages. - Advantages at a glance:
🔹 Secure wound coverage even on highly mobile or irregularly shaped body parts
🔹 No traditional bandages required—fixation is achieved via the skin
🔹 High stability, even with active animals
🔹 Facilitates wound management for postoperative or traumatic wounds
Further application: Removal of skin tumors with large defects
The ANIVET-Wundfix-System is ideal for preparing for surgical procedures that result in a large skin defect after tumor removal.
- The system is applied approximately 3–4 cm from the planned wound edge and generates continuous, controlled tension on the surrounding skin. This stretching activates the so-called mechanical creep effect: the skin slowly adapts to the tensile force, is stretched and mobilized—this means that after excision, more tissue can be used to cover the wound without tension.
- Ideally, it should be applied 2 to 8 hours before surgery.
This technique is comparable to presuturing, in which sutures are placed preoperatively to stretch the skin over the surgical area or minimize subsequent wound tension.
ANIVET Wundfix – Innovative support for penile prolapse
- In cases of penile prolapse—e.g., as a result of trauma, swelling, or neurological disorders—safe repositioning and temporary fixation can be crucial for healing.
- The ANIVET-Wundfix-System provides you with a practical solution that offers both stability and flexibility:
- 🔹 Base units are attached to both sides of the prepuce
🔹 The penis is manually repositioned and then held securely in place by the system
🔹 The system prevents recurrence during decongestion
🔹 Daily opening and cleaning are easy—the system can then be closed again - Advantages at a glance:
✔ Reliable temporary fixation of the penis
✔ Maintains local hygiene thanks to easy handling
✔ Reusable opening without additional material costs
✔ Gentle care without pressure points
